I just got "Image Rotators by Andrei" yesterday and I love it!

I'm very curious if anyone can guide me through a step-by-step of how to modify a transition effect for one of the rotation samples.

All I want to do is implement a simple fade in/fade out between pictures. The elaborate transitions that come by default are too much pizazz for my viewing audience. I need this simple and pure fade in/out effect, but I've had no luck figuring out how to do this after all night of searching the internet.

I have flash mx 2004 and I can get to the [edit symbols >> MOVIECLIPS >> effect#] selection in the included flash source file, but how do I change the layer "square" so that the script offers a simple fade in/out effect?

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Yeah, and they work fine.

Hi,

Please note that there is a new applet that does this. Fades in/out any number of images you set in the XML, at any size + you have a lot of options in the XML as well.

To answer your question, to edit an effect is as simple as editing a movieclip. The effect1, effect2 ... and so on, movie clips are the movie clips that need to be edited.

You can also add as many effects as you want. Name the effects in the same order and don't forget to also use the linkage property in the library. YouÃÃâ€*’Ãâ€Â*â€â⠀žÂ¢ÃƒÆ’ƒâ€šÃ‚¢Ã ƒÆ’Ãâ€*բ̈ ƒâ€šÃ‚¢ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚¬Ã†¦Ãƒâ€šÃ‚¡ÃƒÆ’‚ ¬ÃƒÃâ€*’¢Ã ƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã …¾Ã‚Ã ¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚¢ll have to link the movie clips to their names, just like the other movie clips are linked.

Again, to answer your question, please notice that there is a new applet that does simple fade in/out. The code is different and you won't be able to edit the applets you have now.

Hope this was helpful.

Thanks very much for the explanation Andrei. I love your modules. I'll be checkin out that new fade applet you mentioned.

By the way, I'm assuming you mean image rotator set two is the new applet that does the fade effect. I'm having trouble finding which effect in it's demo (http://www.tufat.com/demo/applets/rotators2/demo.html) is the fade in/out. Can you specify which one?

What I mean specifically by fade effect is something like this: http://www.tufat.com/demo/applets/andrei/applets/applet%2006%20-%20bw%20to%20color/public_html/index.html ...minus the whole black to color or color to black effect and minus the fade to background 1st, then the image.

I'm looking for direct fade into the next image. Couldn't see that in the latest effects shown in the demo for image rotator set 2.
