View Full Version : ticker image partially loads
Maybe someone can help me with this one. I installed the ticker with the image links, and in IE it only loads half of the entire ticker (here's the link to see what I'm talking about - http://www.tpsradio.net/test.htm)
In Firefox it looks fine, in IE it looks funky....

It looks like it's loading correctly for me in all of my web browsers... try updating the flash player on IE.

Darren, I believe, it's a common problem for many applets.
I also tested this URL with the same result.
I have already sent e-mail to you that the ticker (particularly #4) is not working correctly after I copied all the files into the root directory of a web server.
Basically, I copied the content of the Index.html that came with a software:
<objec! classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,0,0" width="750" height="80" id="ticker04_final" align="middle">
<param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" />
<param name="movie" value="ticker04_final.swf?xml=config.xml" />
<param name="quality" value="high" />
<param name="bgcolor" value="#ffffff" />
<embed src="ticker04_final.swf?xml=config.xml" quality="high" bgcolor="#ffffff" width="500" height="100" name="ticker04_final" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" />
</object>
It works nicely on the local drive but fails on the web. I don't want to say that there is a flaw in design but even for several backs that I've spent I'd like to have working product. I assume I'll have the same problem with the other applets.
The IE does not show the applet, only the empty field. You know that many web serfers use various versions of the IE. Therefore, it must work with all of them as soon as they have Flash Reader.
So, I am testing them this weekend. Please reply :(

Hi!
I have visited the link you provided and it works just fine for me, in both IE and Firefox.
I must add that ActionScript 2.0 was used to build these applets and it is supported by flash player 6 and higher, which means that even if the surfers use different versions of IE they still get to see the flash movie as long as they have at least flash player 6 installed (which is like 1-1.5 years old?).
Do you still have issues with ticker 04? If yes, then let's work them out!
Good day, sir!

jteam,
Thank you for your reply! I am pretty much advanced user, and i use the latest version of IE and Flash player. Firefox displays the applet with no problem but IE does not. Is there any workaround?
