Not sure if the designer of the flash or someone can give me a few pointers - it's for the ticker02 - the one with two scrolling lines. We have managed to build a system that allows us to create the xml at runtime from our rss2 feed and the forums so we have that working but because we have resized the movie to 1600 instead of the usual 550 it's put all the fading out outta whack...

Not being a flash dude i'm not so hot on the actionscripting so... i have two questions.

1.) is it possible to make the movie 100% so that it scales for whatever the browser is and scrolls from one side to the other with no fade out

2.) Or is it possible to at least get it to scroll from one side to the other easily.

We have it working at http://clanlife.com/v3 at the top but you will see what the problem is with it.

Any help greatly appricated, if the original flash dude that built it could help us i'm sure i could send him a donation of some kind. :)

Cheers Dudes...

Hello there!
I see what you are talking about. It doesn't look that good, does it? :)
I imagine you would like to see it fixed. Will do! Are there any other changes that you would like to see? You said that the configuration xml file is being generated by some engine. I could alter the original application design so that it reads the configuration from a file and the feeds from another one (an rss).

Are you ok with this?
Cheers!

Dennis

What i really need is just a flash movie that will scale 100% of the clients window and the text scroll off from the sides, be nice if it faded out near the edges. That would look neat.

Basically, i got a friend of mine to build a system that querys our forum and also the rss2 feed from our posts and then builds a config.xml. We now point it to the index.xml so it's automatic. :)

Works a dream - so all i really need doing is the flash movie changing. You can help with that? - great little idea btw. Nice tickers. :) - more than willing to give you a donation for helping me get the flash ticker to look nice at the top of our site.

Cheers,
Phil

Ok then, we'll just stick to the scaling part (+fade feature).
I'll contact you as soon as I'm done with it.

Good day!
